WEEK 2 IN TEXAS

Yo Yo Yo mi familia y mis amigos,

Welp, dos semanas en el campo!! Thanks so much EVERYONE for the emails. Nothing beats mail...en cerio. I'm loving it out here. It's nice and warm cada dia. My trainer is GREAT! Super helpful and super Russian;) Like I said before we've both been white washed so this last week was pretty slow, but we taught a few GREAT lessons. One girl we met at a trailer park. She was outside and we just started talking to her. We told her the Joseph Smith story and she got this huge smile on her face and said, "muy bonita." We have a return appointment this week, whoot whoot! We also taught that family we met last Sunday. They are really sweet and said we could come back again, which will be our third time. We have taught twice now this amazing mother Jennifer. She has so much faith, and loves when we come over. Unfortunately, she is English speaking so we have to pass her off to the English Elders this week. That makes me so sad, because I love this lady. Oh well, it's all for a reason like she says. I think she was sadder then us when we told her we would have to pass her off to the English elders. She said, "I have to give up my missionaries?, :( Oh well, God knows the reasons why." I hope it continues to go well. We have run into a lot of drunk people while out finding referals. It's super funny when they're talkin nonsense. My district is awesome. I love the ward!! There is no way I'm gonna be able to switch back to white people wards one day. I LOVE MEXICANS!! Haha, seriously, the members are so nice, and feed us tons.

I got to experience my first REAL rain storm. It POURS here, and the lightening is super violent!! Many of the streets got flouded. We still have to work in bad weather, unless we get informed otherwise. So my companion and I knocked doors in the crazy storm. It looked like we jumped in a lake or something from how wet we were. When the people opened their doors they were all, "what are you crazy?"...yeah...it was fun. We did have to end the evening early though, because it started to hail. BIG hail.

My Spanish is better, but I still just mostly stare when they ask me questions, because...aaa...yeah I don't know what I'm doin when it comes to this language. I wish they'd just slow down a little when they talk...haha. Anywho, I'd love to say more, but gotta go!

Love,
Hermana Salcido
