Familia y Amigos,
First off: Transfer calls were Saturday and....I'm staying in
Jacinto City with Hermana Mellor and Pitts!! Wahoo! We are all so happy because
we didn't want to leave each other or this area. I'm excited for at least
another transfer here, with my amazing comps!
So, this last week was FULL of ups and downs. I don't think I've
ever been on that kind of an emotional roller coaster. First off, Enrique is
slowly loosing interest since he relapsed 2 1/2 weeks ago. I feel a little like
the missionaries in the Book of Mormon. My heart has been so weighed down for
him as well as several other investigators and less actives. It's like all in
one week there have been so many problems with word of wisdom and law of
chastity for so many people here. I see more and more how evil the world is and
how much they need to live the gospel. Can't they all see how they are in their
own personal apostasy *sigh* It was all just a witness to me though that if I
feel this way, imagine how the Savior feels?! I am learning about Him and His
atonement more and more everyday, which has been a blessing. I really do feel
lucky to be a part of this work. The human inside of me really want's to burn
down the Bud Light factory next to our apartment though. Jaja, wouldn't that be
a good zone activity? ;) Nah, Jokes jokes!
On another note Vincint came to church again yesterday, and said
he is really interested in finding out if this is true! :) Yay, also... we have
a Noche de Hogar tonight with the Medina family and Hugo is coming!!! Whoot
whoot, he is such a GREAT investigator! And we have a new transfer to start
fresh and really get our investiagtors that we have to start progressing
towards baptism. Yay!
I'll let you all know how things continue to go here in the
Magical Land of Jacinto City!
Also, we FINALLY got to go to the temple again! Oh wow. It was
SO GOOD! I wish I could live in there sometimes;) So beautiful and so needed.
Also, wasn't the relief society broadcast amazing??!!!! So many prayers
answered. LIVE YOUR COVENANTS EVERYONE! Love you all! Peace and Blessings:)
Love,
Hermana Salcido
P.s. Thank for the B day wishes everyone, even though it's not
till Wed. 21, Wha??!
Dear family and friends,
Another great week here in Jacinto City! But first off, just
wanted to give a shout out to all those who helped me have a great birthday:
All my Siblings, Boris, Ashley Smith, Mom, The Christensen's, Kaitlin and many
more! Thanks everyone for the cards, package and emails. Nothing makes a
missionary feel greater on her birthday than knowing that her family and
friends back home haven't forgot about her. Especially those on missions like
me(I know how hard it is to write sometimes) #ashleysmith #mom
Anyway thanks! I had a great 21st b day
On another note, wasn't conference terrific?? I loved it, but
unfortunately only one of our investigators came. I wish the world would shut
down so everyone could listen to the prophet of God! Thanks okay, that's why we
have internet. We had a great hour of power miracle on Thursday....we found a family!!! That rarely happens
since Jacinto is full of single, 50+ yr old men. Haha. Anyway, this cute little
family of four and the mom, Marivela, is super interested and felt the spirit
so strong when she prayed the first time! Wow. I live for that. My favorite
things to witness are people praying for the first time and watching their
smile get bigger each time we visit. The church is TRUE!!
Love,
Hermana Salcido
